I hope this week is starting out well for you! I have three days of work left before my vacation starts and while I haven't quite started counting out the minutes and seconds yet, I'm getting close! Of course, according to the weather it's going to rain the entire time I'm there... literally the sun will not come out until the day after I leave, but I'm okay with that. At least I won't get sunburned, right? Anyway, in the short time before my brain goes on vacation without me, I thought I would share with you this month's i+t alchemist from Innocent + Twisted Alchemy!
In case you are unfamiliar, i+t alchemist is the name of the monthly subscription service from Innocent + Twisted Alchemy, a cruelty-free indie brand that creates loose eyeshadow pigments, blushes, etc. Each month's subscription is based around a particular theme and contains at least three products made just for subscribers, plus a coupon code for 35% off. The cost is $18.00 per month, which includes shipping to the U.S.
This month the subscription includes four loose eyeshadow pigments, plus an eyeshadow from guest indie, My Pretty Zombie! The theme is based on a song I'm not actually familiar with, "The Boy Who Wanted To Be a Real Puppet", by Sonata Arctica. It does not include the usual coupon code for 35% off your next purchase at Innocent + Twisted, due to the fact that the store is currently undergoing a transitional period. Overstock of this collection will probably be available once the shop reopens but I don't know for certain.
The first shade is called "Knife!" and it's a bright, metallic white silver shade. I don't believe I have anything like this in my collection right now and it's very awesome. Put your sunshades on for this one, 'cause it just might blind you!
Next up we have "Master + Puppet". This shade basically punches you in the face, saying "It's Fall!" It's a medium orange with shy pink sparkles and I just adore it.
The next color has somewhat similar tones to the last, but with more of a reddish pink cast and a pink sheen. This is called "Voice of the Master" and I also love it.
Finally, we have "Blind Greed". This is a difficult to describe color - it's a purple base with kind of a pewter taupe sheen and blue, pink and purple sparkles. Sooooooper cool!
As if I didn't love the I+T eyeshadow colors included this month enough, they had to go and include and exclusive eyeshadow from one of my absolute favorite indie brands, My Pretty Zombie. This shade is called "All the Limbs" and its a rich blood red with a satin finish. Yeessss all of the Autumn goodness on my face.
For the look I just knew I had to go for an intense red eye to match the fall mood. I used "All the Limbs" over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy on the inner and outer thirds of the lid, then patted "Master + Puppet" in the center. I blended out the crease with Kat Von D's Shade + Light Eye Contour palette, then lined upper and lower lash line with "Blind Greed" on a damp angle brush. The inner corner highlight is of course "Knife!" which ended up being pretty intense even on bare skin.
Final Thoughts: Well, if I wasn't already in fall mode, this month's alchemist certainly would have gotten me there! Also, the fact that it contained an exclusive MPZ shadow had me jumping for joy! There's no hint yet for next month's theme but I have a feeling it's going to be Halloween special!
