Innocent + Twisted Alchemy : i+t alchemist - March 2016

Hey there geekonistas!

Hope you all had a great Easter, if you celebrate it! My husband and I spent a nice quiet day at home - we managed to watch some of the shows we have saved on the DVR, so I think that counts as spring cleaning? Good enough in my book anyway!

Today I'm bringing you this month's i + t alchemist! i+t alchemist is the name of the monthly subscription service from Innocent + Twisted Alchemy. It is available in two sizes - sample size ($12.00 per month) or full size ($18.00 per month). Both of these prices include shipping, which is a pretty good deal! Each month's subscription is based around a particular theme and contains at least three products made just for subscribers, plus a coupon code. The subscription is currently sold out, but new spots open up on the first day of every month, or you can snag a one time trial subscription! For more details and release times I would suggest following the I+TA facebook page. My subscription is for the "sample size".

FanMail: March 2016- "Mostly Dead"

Hey there geekonistas!

Ah, spring. That time of the year when a young geek's fancy turns to.. zombies? Well and why not! Zombies, and the rest of their undead brethren, can be celebrated any time of the year, right? And what better time to celebrate something pushing its way up from beneath the ground than in spring?

Lazy Sunday Bonus Post: The Blush Tag!

Hey there geekonistas!

I had so much fun doing the 40 Questions tag during my "lazy Sunday" before that I wanted to do another tag again this week! This tag has been circulating around YouTube a lot lately - VintageorTacky, BaileyB, and Phyrra have all done videos on it recently so I thought I would join in the fun!

Glamour Doll Eyes OTM: March 2016

Hey there geekonistas!

It's been an exciting week here at Geek HQ! I went to the Wizard World Las Vegas convention last Saturday and picked up some nice treats, PLUS was super awkward and weird when talking to people in person! Yaaaaay. Social anxiety just my curse, unfortunately, but the fact that I went to the convention at all (a very crowded space) is a good achievement for me. And even though I couldn't say much, I did get my picture taken with Elizabeth Henstridge (Simmons from Agents of SHIELD) so, win!

So, for such a magical unicorn moment, I thought, what could be more appropriate than sharing with you this month's OTM from Glamour Doll Eyes, based around unicorns?

Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet: "28:06:42:12" March 2016

Hey there geekonistas!

How are you all doing today? I'm enjoying the spring weather and making tons of plans for travel! Am I the only one that gets a severe case of wanderlust in the springtime? I don't know what it is, but something about the change from stay at home winter weather to get outdoors spring weather makes me want to ramble and roam. Of course, its not like winter weather in the desert would really stop me from doing much, but hey, it's the principle, right?

Today, however, I am excited that I have this month's Vanishing Cabinet to share with you! The Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet is a monthly subscription service that includes a number of mini sized loose eye shadow pigments (anywhere from 4-6)  and/or lip and other bonus products, sometimes including a guest product from another indie company, all created around a specific theme such as a movie, book, or fandom. It costs $12.90 per month including shipping. There is currently a wait list to get the subscription which you can join by emailing Notoriously Morbid, and sometimes you can catch one time "trial" subscriptions (good for that month only) on the website.

Haul-iday Bonus Post! Colourpop, Too Faced, and more!

Hey there geekonistas!

Spring/Summer has got to be the best time for makeup and the worst time for my wallet. It seems like every company is coming out with amazing new products and I just have to own all of them. So, in an effort to pretend like I bought these for research, I thought I would share some of my recent purchases from the past month or so here with you and let you know my thoughts on them!

Glamour Doll Eyes OTM: February 2016

Hey there geekonistas!

Today I just wanted to show you a quick look at the Glamour Doll Eyes OTM from last month. Yes, I am still playing catch-up, but I should be caught up soon! (Hopefully before this month's makeup subs start arriving!) I had put away a lot of this subscription and gotten rid of packaging and everything so I'm afraid I won't have pictures of that, but I did create a look for you!

Fandom of the Month Club: February 2016

Hey there geekonistas!

Look at that! It's another late review! Haha seriously though, I am still trying to play catch-up from being sick, so I'm going to try to get up as many extra reviews as I can from February's boxes so I don't skip out on too many!

The subscription box I have for you today is the Fandom of the Month Club box. Fandom of the Month club is a monthly subscription box that delivers geeky themed jewelry and other accessories. The cost is $13.00 a month for a month-to-month subscription, $36.00 ($12.00 per box) if you pay for three months up front, and $66.00 ($11.00 per box) if you pay for six months up front. Shipping is extra and costs $3.50 per month within the U.S. and $9.80 per month internationally.

Beauty Tag: 40 Questions!

Hey there geekonistas!

I'm having kind of a lazy Sunday today, so I thought it might be fun to do a beauty questions tag! I got these questions from Biohazardous Beauty's YouTube channel - if you've never seen her you should totally check her out, she does some absolutely amazing eye looks and uses a lot of indie brands.

On to the questions!

Hello Waffle Cosmetics : Visage February 2016

Hey there geekonistas!

Oh man, this is such a sad post to write. But this is it! The time has finally come to end it. This is my last... Visage subscription. *sadface* Just to be clear, I did not cancel Visage because I was in any way unhappy with the products or the customer service (Christine is seriously just the best and you all KNOW my love for Hello Waffle products). I just thought it was time to start checking out some of the other subscriptions out there and, as my most expensive makeup subscription, unfortunately Visage was first up on the chopping block to make way for the new ones. I already regret it and I will probably sign back up again but I'm trying to be strong!

Also, in the vein of constantly trying to improve my makeup and photographic skills, today is the first day I am adding a new feature to my reviews where I try to use the products featured to create a look and then photograph it for you. Hopefully this will turn out well and you will get to see the colors in action rather than just as swatches on my arm!

Anyway, in case you are unfamiliar, Visage is a monthly subscription box service from Hello Waffle Cosmetics. It costs $25 a month, plus shipping, and includes a mix of full and sample size items for eyes, lips and face, including one product from a guest indie company. There is currently a wait list to subscribe, which you can join by emailing Hello Waffle. There are also often extras from previous Visages posted for purchase on the website, so if you like a particular color you can sometimes grab it even without a subscription!
