Innocent + Twisted : i+t alchemist - August 2016

Guys. GUYS.

I missed out on July's i+t alchemist. It was the restructuring month where only the one month trials were available and I was gonna order it and I forgot until all of the sudden it was August first and I couldn't get it anymore. Guys. I missed out on the Ranma 1/2 themed box! One of my favorite anime of all time and I missed out on the subscription dedicated to it! *sobs inconsolably* Thankfully, overstock of the individual colors should be up on the Innocent & Twisted store soon, so I can at least get a hold of those. *Sigh of relief*

Also thankfully, the regular subscriptions have now resumed, allowing me to receive it every month without having to remember anything. Oh, and in case you are just now joining the blog (welcome!), i+t alchemist is the name of the monthly subscription service from Innocent + Twisted Alchemy.   Each month's subscription is based around a particular theme and contains at least three products made just for subscribers, plus a coupon code for 35% off. The cost is $18.00 per month, which includes shipping to the U.S.

This month the theme is based on a Chinese folk tale, "Jingwei Filling the Sea". The story is about a young goddess who is tragically killed by a storm at sea and reincarnates as a bird whose mission is to toss stones and branches into the sea until she completely fills it. The subscription is chock full of goodies this month, including a loose highlighter powder, a sample size lip color, two loose eye shadow pigments, and one bonus loose eye shadow pigment from guest indie Wonderland Beauty Cosmetics.

First up, we have "Jingwei". Though this looks like a pale pink in the jar, its actually a vibrant pink-purple shade when used over a sticky base.

Next is "Enamored by Morning Light". This is a gorgeous sky blue with a golden sheen.

The third loose eye shadow pigment this month is from a guest indie, Wonderland Beauty Cosmetics. It's called "Upon a Dream" and it's a blackened purple with a purple sheen. I like the shade but the container itself was seriously messy!

Also included this month is an "Angelic Powder", which is I+T's highlighter formula that is subtle enough to be used as an all over face powder as well. (Think Hourglass' Ambient Lighting powders). This one is called "Metamorphase" and it's a very pale pink. It's hard to see in the swatch since it's supposed to be subtle and also I am very pale.

The final item this month is a sample size of a "Lippie Slick" lip color. "Mocking Sea" is a sheer purple shade with blue shimmer and shine. I love this formula, it's very comfortable and has a faint fruity scent, like maybe lychee?

Final Thoughts: Well, even though I'm still sad as heck I missed last month's alchemist, this one is pretty awesome! As usual, owner Linda Wan delivers some gorgeous, unique shades, paired with her own style of lovely artwork.

What did you think of this month's i+t alchemist? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for hanging out!
