Glamour Doll Eyes OTM: January 2016

Hey there geekonistas!

Remember when I said I was making way for some new subscriptions? Well here is the first of those! I've finally managed to snag a subscription to the Glamour Doll Eyes OTM (Of the Month) Subscription service!

Glamour Doll Eyes is a cruelty-free, indie company that produces loose and pressed eye shadow pigments, blushes, and lip products. The OTM service costs $11.00 per month to the U.S., $18.00 per month to Canada, and $22.00 internationally (all of these prices include shipping), and includes at least one eye shadow, plus another product. There is a different theme to the OTM each month, and any extras can be purchased on the GDE site once all of the subscriptions have been mailed out. (Be warned though, they go fast!) To get the subscription, you must email the owner to get onto the waitlist. The waitlist lasts one year and is reset in January. (Which is how I managed to snag one!)

This month the theme is the Disney movie "Aladdin" and there are some absolutely gorgeous picks! It includes two loose pigments, a lip product from a guest indie, and some samples, plus of course, candy! Let's check it out. As usual, all loose pigments are swatched over Geek Chic Cosmetics' Power Up Primer, except where noted.

First up we have this month's eye shadow, "Not A Prize". This color is described as "A dusty dark purple with a subtle silvery red sheen topped off with red, pink, blue and purple sparkle." Very sparkly! The red sheen is a little hard to capture, but you can definitely see the silver and the sparkles!

Next up is another loose pigment, this one a highlighter/bronzer called "Desert Prince". According to the information card, this color is a "glowy bronze with a light bronze and pink shine". I swatched this on bare skin at full strength (left) and blended out (right). It's a little too sparkly for my bronzing desires and too dark to highlight on me, but I will make good use of it as an eye shadow!

The next product is a guest indie from the brand Spectrum Cosmetics. It's a "raspberry wine shade" lip stick with gold sparkle. It's definitely lighter on than it looks in the tube but the opacity can be built up. The gold sparkles are definitely very subtle.

As an extra extra bonus this month, subscribers received some samples of upcoming "Remix" shadows. These are shadows that were formerly offered on the site, but with new formulations. I got "Undercover" (the steel gray)  and "Tattooed" (the vibrant indigo).

Final Thoughts: I like it! I thought the colors were nice and the quality is very good. There were also a ton of bonuses this month, which made me very happy!

What did you think of this month's OTM? What's your favorite Disney movie? (Mine's Frozen, but don't tell anyone, okay? >->) Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for hanging out!
