Innocent + Twisted Alchemy: i+t alchemist - January 2016

Hey there geekonistas!

As promised, I am back to makeuppy goodness! This is another new-to-me subscription service, from Innocent + Twisted Alchemy, who's "Release the Clow" collection I also recently reviewed. (If you haven't read it yet... spoiler alert: I absolutely love it!)

i+t alchemist is the name of the monthly subscription service from Innocent + Twisted Alchemy. It is available in two sizes - sample size ($12.00 per month) or full size ($18.00 per month). Both of these prices include shipping, which is a pretty good deal! Each month's subscription is based around a particular theme and contains at least three products made just for subscribers, plus a coupon code. The subscription is currently sold out, but new spots open up on the first day of every month, or you can snag a one time trial subscription! For more details and release times I would suggest following the I+TA facebook page.

This month's theme is Alice in Wonderland. Would you take a look at that glorious artwork? <3 <3 <3 The coupon code for this month is for a whopping 35% off products on the Innocent + Twisted Alchemy website!

So, if you've been following my blog for a while, you may notice that I've done my swatches a little differently today. I'm always trying new techniques to see if I can improve my photographic quality beyond "hopeless" - so I thought I would try swatching everything together in order to capture it all at once in the same light, and so you can see what the colors look like together. All loose pigments are, as usual, swatched over Geek Chic Cosmetics' Power Up Primer.

Starting out we have the three pigments made by I+TA for the subscription.

The first color is "Out of Time". This is a pale straw yellow with a golden sheen. Very unique and pretty!

Next is the color "Endless Grin". This is a magenta with a blue purple sheen. This is a color I didn't even realize was missing from my collection until I saw it!

The last color is called "DayDreamer" and it's a cool toned blue based purple with a almost bronzy sheen? I have lots of colors like this already but it is a pretty shade.

Also included in this month's subscription are a whopping five samples from other brands! One of the samples, "Brisket" from My Pretty Zombie Cosmetics, I've already reviewed, so if you're interested you can find that here. (Holy crap those pictures are just the worst though.)

The first sample is from Wonderland Beauty Cosmetics and is called "Hatter's Toxic Tea". This is a cool green shade with green and silver sparkles.

Next is a product from Dusk Cosmetics - this grey purple called "Mad Hatter" also has silver sparkles.

Then we have this cute "trial vial" from Scaredy Cat Cosmetics. This tiny bottle fits in perfectly with the Alice in Wonderland theme! I believe the color is called "Hitaeglir" and its a smokey tarnished gunmetal color. The card that came with the sample also offered 20% off your first purchase at Scaredy Cat Cosmetics. Score!

And finally, we have a highlighter from Rascal Cosmetics - another new-to-me brand. This shade is called "Duchess" and its a pearly base with a pink/purple sheen to it. Not the most natural highlighter in the world, but hey, some people like to be seen from space! (By some people, I mean me.) The left swatch is full strength on bare skin, while the right swatch is blended out.

Final Thoughts: Whew! That was a LOT of product contained in one package! The three shadows, plus five samples and two mega coupon codes really made me feel like I got my money's worth! This was just a one month trial subscription, but after this I may have to make some hard choices and get rid of another sub for a while to make room for this one!

The hint for next month is: "Down once more to the dungeons of my black despair! Down we plunge to the prison of my mind. Down that path into darkness deep as Hell!" Ummm can you say Phantom of the Opera?! Gimme gimme gimme gimme! Interestingly, this month's Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet (which I received but will probably not review) had the hint for next month's VC as "Love Never Dies", which is, of course, the name of the musical sequel to Phantom. Hmmmmmmmm......

What did you think of the i+t alchemist this month? Do you subscribe? Do you think I should? Do you like the new swatching style? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for hanging out!
