Notoriously Morbid: Tribute Trio No.7 - "Finding the Cure"

Hey there geekonistas!

It may not be Friday, but I AM in love with a new Tribute Trio from Notoriously Morbid! Today I am bringing you a look at the latest limited edition set, "Finding the Cure", based, of course, on The Cure!

Tribute Trios are Notoriously Morbid's way of paying homage to the bands and singers that have made an impact in their lives. They are extremely limited edition, so make sure you snatch them up when you see them! (and follow Notoriously Morbid on Facebook to know when a new set is coming out). This particular set was $12.00, and is, unfortunately, currently sold out. "Finding the Cure" contains two loose eyeshadow pigments plus a "Glass Lip Tint" (Notoriously Morbid's sheer lip tint formula).

So let's dive right in! First up in the loose pigments, we have "Strange As Angels", a gorgeous pinky lilac with a ton of pink and blue sparkle and blue/green sheen.

Next up is the other loose pigment, ""It's Friday..." This pigment is a medium purple shade, again with a ton of purple sparkles and a somewhat reddish/copper sheen.

Finally, we have the lip tint, "Alone with You". This is a very sheer red color with pink glitter and a pink sheen. Unfortunately, since I live about 3 inches from the surface of the sun, mine arrived in less than stellar condition. I will still be able to use it, but it's a bit of a pain. Plus I am not a big lip tint wearer - I tend to prefer liquid to matte or satin lipsticks as lip tints just have too much slip for my preference. This is a very pretty color though!

For the eye look, I was really able to show off the versatility of these pigments. To start, I primed my eye and set it with a shadow the same color as my skin.
For the crease, I used "It's Friday..." on a dry fluffy brush. It performed quite well as a matte shade when not over a sticky base! I blended it out with the same skin color eye shadow as I used before.
For the lid I used "Strange as Angels" over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy to really show off that sparkly goodness.
To create the wing, I used "It's Friday..." with a drop of Darling Girl Cosmetics Superstar Serum, then applied the result with a liner brush.
I used a black waterproof liner in my tight and water line, blending it slightly over the edge, then used "It's Friday..." on an angle brush on my lower lashline.

LOOK I DID A WING AND IT'S NOT AWFUL mostly

For my blush I used My Pretty Zombie's blush in "LSD", a pretty pale purple shade, topped with a Nyx blush in "Dusty Rose" and Hello Waffle's highlighter in "Jellybean". For my lips I used "Alone With You".

Final Thoughts: Even though I'm not as big of a fan of The Cure as I have been of some of the other Tribute Trios artists, I still had a lot of fun with this set. I feel like the colors complement each other very well, making it super simple to create a look from them!

What do you think of this Tribute Trio? If you are a fan of The Cure, do you have any song recommendations for me?

Until next time, thanks for hanging out!
