Kiss My Sass Cosmetics: Lip Addicts Anonymous October 2015

Hey there geekonistas!

I've got a bonus post for you today! I wanted to take a little break while I was swatching the rest of the Darling Girl Halloween collection, so when my Lip Addicts Anonymous subscription arrived, I just couldn't help myself! I will actually probably have quite a few bonus posts leading up to Halloween, since I have SO much stuff to share with you and I want to make sure I get it all out in time.

Lip Addicts Anonymous is a monthly subscription service from Kiss My Sass Cosmetics, an indie, cruelty-free makeup company. The subscription is $8.00 per month plus shipping (my shipping to Las Vegas, NV is $2.25) and it includes a full size exclusive lip product, two cosmetic samples, one bath and body sample and a coupon code.

This month's package is Halloween themed, of course! It's based on the "Sleepy Hollow" movie. Look at that adorable treat bag! And the bonus item is a cute Halloween pencil. I really feel like I was just out trick-or-treating and came home with a great goodie bag!

This month the subscription includes a lipstick, two loose pigment samples, a perfume sample, and a tube of glitter from guest indie company Glamour Doll Eyes. There is also an information sheet describing the products, plus a coupon code for 20% off any order at Kiss My Sass. Nice.

The full size exclusive lip product this month is a lipstick named "Pickety Witch". (So much fun to say. Picketywitch picketywitch picketywitch picketywitch.) It's a grey purple shade with an aqua color shift. It's super pretty and a bit sheer, (though it can be built up to a good opacity with a couple passes) so while it looks cool and subtle on its own, I think it would be really awesome layered over a darker shade to make that shift pop. the information card describes it as having a "Vanilla Chai" flavor but honestly when I smelled it all I could think of were cider donuts. Mmmmmm... cider donuts....

On the left: one pass. On the right: built up with several passes. Picketywitch.
Next up is this month's bath and body sample. It's a perfume oil called "Headless Horseman" which the notes describe as "Pumpkin, spices, rum, dirt, leather, sandalwood, amber & musk". Now, before I talk about this, let me preface by saying that scents are an intensely personal thing. Scents that I love you may hate and vice versa. It doesn't mean the scent is bad, it just means that we react to it differently. And my reaction to this scent is a big "Yuck!" Not really surprising since I tend to lean more towards the fruity/floral/foodie end of the spectrum, but there you go. I do appreciate that she packages the oils in a plastic baggie so that everything in the packet doesn't end up smelling the same!

The first loose pigment sample is the lipstick color but in powder form. Also called "Pickety Witch" its the same "gurple" color with an aqua shift. I swatched this and the next over my usual Geek Chic Cosmetics' Power Up Primer.

Who's got a kiss for the Pickety Witch?

Pickety. Witch.
The second loose pigment is called "Sleepy Hollow" It's described as a "charcoal gray with a fiery copper glow".

And finally we have the guest indie product this month, a tube of glitter called "Devil's Fire" from Glamour Doll Eyes. There's a big warning on the back of the label that says the FDA does not approve of the use of glitter anywhere on your face but hey, live fast, die young, right? This glitter looks to be a copper, yellow, and purple blend. I don't usually use straight up glitter in my makeup looks but this is really pretty. I will keep it around and maybe I'll find a use for it eventually.

You thought I wouldn't do it here but I will. PICKETYWITCH
So that's it for this month's LAA subscription! What did you think? Are you subscribed? Let me know in the comments!
