Today I have the final installment of Halloween goodies - Notoriously Morbid's Halloween collection, "An Evening with Mr. Price", based, of course, on the works of Vincent Price. Unfortunately, this collection is currently sold out, but the wonderful gals at Notoriously Morbid have been known to bring back popular colors! As a bonus, I also have this month's Color of the Month, a Notoriously Morbid Fan Fav - "Creepy Green Light", which is still available and will be until the end of the month. Let's get started!
This collection includes four full size loose shadows, one liquid lip color, and a solid perfume. As you can see, there were also some cool spooky goodies packed in the bag as well! The cover art looks like a wax seal with "VP" imprinted in it. As usual, all loose pigments are swatched over Geek Chic Cosmetics' Power Up Primer.
First up we have Notoriously Morbid's second foray into the world of solid perfumes. I liked their first one (As the World Falls Down) so much that I couldn't wait to see... er.. smell what they came up with this time. "Arsenic on the Rocks", inspired by the film "The House on Haunted Hill" does not disappoint. It's a very sweet floral scent, but with some deeper, complex earthy notes. Notoriously Morbid describes the notes as jasmine, ylang ylang, woodsy earth, and sugared walnuts. It comes in a black twist up tube just like the ones that house their Coffin Kisser lip balms. so the "Not For Lips" sticker makes sense.
Next up is "Early for Christmas". This is based on the film "Edward Scissorhands" (not the first and not the last "Edward Scissorhands" related item I will review this year!) and it is a burgundy red with green and silver sparkles. This may be from the Halloween collection but, true to its name I see myself getting the most use out of this around Christmastime!
The next color is called "Eternal Life". It's based on the film "The House of Wax", and its a super pretty lilac with a strong orange sheen to it.
Notoriously Morbid describes the next pigment, "The Luxury of Anger" (inspired by "The Last Man on Earth") as "pressure sensitive", meaning if you just pat it lightly you keep the base taupe shade that it shows in the jar, but if you use a little more firmness when applying it becomes a blue/gray base. Both bases share a copper shimmer. I patted it lightly on the left swatch and used more pressure on the right. There was a definite difference in base color, and when I wiped it away with a makeup remover cloth, it came up blue. This made me want to experiment with foiling the shadow, so I used a couple drops of Darling Girl's Superstar Serum to check it out. As I suspected, this really brought out the blue base.

The final item in the collection is the liquid lip color. This is called "Red Death" and it's based on "The Masque of the Red Death". Its a gorgeous deep berry red with magenta sparkles. Perfect fall/winter color.
And finally we have a bonus! October's COTM (color of the month) is "Creepy Green Light" a Halloween favorite that was brought back again this year by popular demand! It is inspired by the Type O Negative song of the same name. This color is a unique pale green with a strong yellow sheen and yellow sparkles. So creepy/fun/cool!
Final Thoughts: This set was a lot of fun to play with! I especially enjoyed experimenting with the pressure sensitive pigments. I would have to say my favorite color of the collection was "Eternal Life", mostly because I am a big sucker for lilacs! Overall, though, it might be a tie between that and Creepy Green Light. Such a cool shade.
So, what do you think of this collection? What are your plans for Halloween? I'm staying home to give out candy to the trick-or-treaters and watching Nightmare Before Christmas!
