Blogmas Day Twenty-Seven: Notoriously Morbid's Vanishing Cabinet December 2015

Hey there geekonistas!

No preamble today, I just want to get right in to this month's Vanishing Cabinet! The theme is just too awesome for me to keep under wraps for long!

The Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet is a monthly subscription service that includes a number of mini sized loose eye shadow pigments (anywhere from 4-6)  and/or lip and other bonus products, sometimes including a guest product from another indie company. It costs $12.90 per month including shipping. There is currently a wait list to get the subscription which you can join by emailing Notoriously Morbid.

This month the theme is "Guard the Magic" and it's based on the "Rise of the Guardians" movie! Squee! I know that movie didn't do so well and I'm not expecting a sequel, but it's honestly one of my favorites. It may help that I have read and love all the "Guardians of Childhood" books by William Joyce that the movie was based on.

This month includes four loose eye shadow pigments, a sparkly "Cosmic Lipcraft" lip gloss, some candy, and the information sheet containing notes about the theme and products. In this month's sheet, Notoriously Morbid let subscribers know that in the coming months there will be more of a variety in the products included in the Vanishing Cabinet, plus the jars will now come with sifters to keep the product neat and clean! This is very exciting news, especially as it will not alter the price of the Vanishing Cabinet. The sheet also contains a code for a free full-size shadow with your next order. As usual, all loose pigments are swatched over Geek Chic Cosmetics' Power Up Primer.

First things first, I was dying to crack into this "Cosmic Lipcraft"! This is a new product for Notoriously Morbid and Vanishing Cabinet subscribers get this exclusive sneak peek! The color of this one is called "Wings Up!!" in honor of Toothiana and her army of Baby Teeth. This gloss is a pearly white base with green and blue sparkles to it that look just like Toothiana's wings! It's got a really nice, sweet fruity scent to it as well. Unfortunately, the sparkles were very shy and did not want to show up on camera for me.

For the first loose pigment we have "Bandit King", dedicated to the past, pre-Guardian life of Nicholas St. North. This is a burgundy shade with an almost metallic shine to it. Very pretty.

Next up is "Sleepy Sands" for Sandy the Sandman. This metallic gold with a ton of sparkles looks just like Sandy's dream sand and would pair well with "Bandit King" for a gorgeous holiday look.

Blurred to show sparkles

Then we have "People Believe in Me", the shade for E. Aster Bunnymund, also known as the Easter Bunny. This pigment is the same beautiful grey blue as Bunny's fur, with a lovely lavender sheen.

And finally, we have both my favorite character and my favorite shadow in the set! Jack Frost's color is called "The Moon Told Me So" and it's a frosty deep blue with silver and blue sparkles.

Final Thoughts: Well of course I loved the theme for this month, and I think NM really nailed the colors to go along with them. I also enjoyed getting a sneak peek of a new product, and I am very excited to see what new variety of products they will begin to include! The hint for next month is: "Students of Lawndale High, your attention please!" Hmmmm... I'm thinking Daria!

What did you think of this month's Vanishing Cabinet? Have you seen "Rise of the Guardians"? If so, who is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!

And as always, thanks for hanging out!
