Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet November 2015

Hey there geekonistas!

Welcome to day two of Blogmas! Today I am playing catch-up a little bit and bringing you last month's Vanishing Cabinet from Notoriously Morbid.

The Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet is a monthly subscription service that includes a number of mini sized loose eye shadow pigments (anywhere from 4-6)  and/or lip and other bonus products, sometimes including a guest product from another indie company. It costs $12.90 per month including shipping. There is currently a wait list to get the subscription which you can join by emailing Notoriously Morbid.

You may notice something a little different about this month's Vanishing Cabinet. The theme is "Now & Forever" -based on Jack and Sally from "Nightmare Before Christmas"- and instead of the usual number of smaller sizes, it contains three full size products - two loose eye shadows and one lip product. Also included is the usual sheet with information about each of the products, a hint to next month's theme, and a coupon code for a free mini eye shadow with your next order.

First up we have Sally's color - a loose pigment called "I'm Restless". This is a grayish green with pink sparkles in it. Totally suitable for Sally. Swatching it over primer really made the pink sparkles come through.

Next we have Jack's loose eye shadow. This is the first matte shade included in a vanishing cabinet and its a deep rusty orange called "Mister Unlucky".  This is swatched without any primer because Notoriously Morbid's matte game is ridiculously strong.

And finally, another first for the Vanishing Cabinet, a Mystic Matte (NM's version of a liquid to matte lipstick) in the color "Pumpkin King". It basically looks like "Mister Unlucky" but in lip color form. Notoriously Morbid's Mystic Mattes are one of my all time favorite liquid to matte formulas of all time. They are SO comfortable to wear, non-drying, and last all day. They do take a couple minutes to dry down, but the end result is so worth it.

Final thoughts:  I'm a HUGE fan of Nightmare Before Christmas, so the theme this month made me really excited! I also liked the colors that they chose, especially Sally's. I don't know if I will get much use out of the Mystic Matte, but at least it's a color I don't already own, and it's not only a great fall color, but it matches the theme really well. I don't know if I really like the "smaller number of full-size products" thing - I generally like the mini sizes better since I've never finished a loose pigment in my life and it makes me feel less wasteful. However, I appreciate what they were trying to do and I know a lot of people will sad that the sizes weren't even bigger!

The hint for next month is: "We go by many names, and take many forms. We bring wonder and hope, we bring joy and dreams." I have no idea what this could be!

What do you think of the November Vanishing Cabinet? Would you classify Nightmare Before Christmas as a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? (I vote Halloween all the way!) Let me know in the comments!
